PROCESS
The Methodology

Assess.
Target.
Execute.

Three stages. Applied wherever you're starting from. The same process whether you're beginning, correcting, or rebuilding — because the logic is always the same.

The work is not decoration.
It is translation.

Every brand engagement starts the same way: we look honestly at where you are. Not where you think you are, not where you'd like to be — where you actually are right now, in the market, relative to everyone around you.

That honest assessment is the foundation of everything that follows. Without it, you're designing in a vacuum. With it, every decision has a rationale — and the final result is a brand that earns its position rather than hoping for one.

01
Assess

Where You Are

Before anything is designed, we map the full picture. Who surrounds you. How they position themselves. Where the gaps are. What your current brand says — and what it should be saying instead.

This is the stage most studios skip. Laufwerk does not skip it. The assessment is the work.

Request an Assessment
Competitive Landscape Analysis

A structured review of your competitive set across three tiers — direct competitors, adjacent players, and the firms that define client expectations in your space. Scored across brand presence, visual identity, thought leadership, and pedigree signal.

Current Brand Audit

An honest review of every existing brand asset — logo, color, typography, photography direction, layout system, messaging, and credential language. Scored, prioritized, and framed against what it should be doing for you.

Market Positioning Review

Where does white space exist? Who is occupying it and how credibly? What is the specific differentiator that only you can own? We find the position before we design toward it.

Industry Branding Patterns

The conventions of your market — visual language, messaging patterns, digital strategy, trust architecture. We identify which to follow, which to deliberately break, and why the distinction matters.

02
Target

Where You
Should Be

The assessment defines the problem. The target defines the solution. We specify the exact brand position — the identity, the voice, the visual language, the audience — before anything is built.

Precision here prevents expensive revisions later. If you don't know exactly where you're going, you can't know when you've arrived.

Positioning Recommendation

A precise, single-sentence brand position — not a tagline, not a mission statement, but a strategic coordinate. This is where your brand should live in the market, and why that specific position is defensible.

Identity Direction

Color system rationale. Typography selection. Photography direction. Visual language framework. The complete aesthetic brief that informs every design decision that follows.

Messaging Framework

Core positioning statement. Voice and tone definition. Service descriptions that lead with identity, not features. Credential language that names specific titles, units, and institutional affiliations — not generic claims.

Priority Roadmap

A ranked sequence of brand investments — what to build first, what can wait, and what the specific ROI rationale is for each. Not every brand needs everything at once. The roadmap sequences the work correctly.

03
Execute

Getting
You There

The full identity system, built to the positioning specification. Every deliverable precise, complete, and ready to deploy — so your brand finally says what your operational reality already proves.

One studio. One point of contact. No handoffs to junior teams. No deliverables that require explanation.

Start a Project
Identity System

Logotype, color palette, typography system, photography direction, usage guidelines. A brand guidelines document — HTML and PDF — that serves as the single source of truth for every future design decision.

Presentation Architecture

A complete PowerPoint template system — eight slide layouts covering every situation: title, section divider, content, stats, comparison, image, quote, and closing. Built to the brand, not to a generic template.

Print Collateral

Business cards, letterhead, and proposal document templates. Every touchpoint consistent with the identity system — print-ready specifications included.

Custom Website

A full custom HTML website — mobile-responsive, fast, and built precisely to your brand and brief. Not a template. Not a page builder. Not Squarespace or Wix. Every line of code written from scratch, for you. The result looks like your brand, performs at a professional standard, and is yours to own and deploy outright.

What Never Changes

The Constants.

Regardless of where you're starting from, these principles apply to every engagement.

One Studio

Every decision is made by the same person who takes the brief. No delegation. No junior teams. No dilution of judgment between strategy and execution.

Honest Assessment First

We will tell you what the audit actually shows, even when it's uncomfortable. The work is only as good as the diagnosis. Flattery produces mediocre brands.

Complete at Delivery

Every deliverable is ready to deploy without modification. If something needs to change after delivery, it changes — quickly, without friction, at no additional cost during the engagement.

Custom. Always.

Nothing from a template library. No page builders, no themes, no off-the-shelf logos. Every deliverable — website, identity, presentation — is built from scratch for your brief. You own it outright.

Typical Engagement Timeline

From Brief to Deployed.

A full engagement — Assess, Target, Execute — typically runs four to six weeks depending on scope. The assessment phase can be commissioned independently.

Week 1
Brief & Intake

Conversation, context, scope confirmation. Understanding where you are and what you need.

Weeks 1–2
Assessment

Competitive analysis, brand audit, market mapping. Delivered as a structured document.

Week 2–3
Positioning

Target position, identity direction, messaging framework. Alignment before execution begins.

Weeks 3–5
Execution

Identity system, templates, collateral, digital presence. Delivered in priority sequence.

Week 5–6
Deployed

Every asset live, every file delivered, brand guidelines complete. The work is done.
